Doi Inthanon National Park
On our first day, we took a toured the Doi Inthanon national park. We saw 2 waterfalls and the famous Twin Pagodas. We also visited some of the locals in the area and saw their silk weaving process.
Elephant Sanctuary
On the second day, we went to an elephant sanctuary. All the money they earn goes back to taking care and feeding the elephants. The staff is super friendly and the elephants are well loved. We got to feed them bananas, play with them and bathe them! Definitely the highlight of my time in Chiang Mai.
Wat Phra Singh & Wat Chedi Luang
On the morning of our third day, we decided to immerse ourselves in the culture and visit some of the temples in the old city. The details were amazing and you could see locals praying inside the temples.
Doi Suthep
In the afternoon, we took a red songthaew to the top of the Doi Suthep. The views of the mountain are stunning, and the temple is surrounded by delicious snack shops. The temple was big and well decorated.
Night Bazaar Market
At night time, we went to the famous night market on the east side of the old city. Bands play songs all night, and we ate tons of cheap food while enjoying the breeze and the music. Street vendors also sell souveniers, and you can usually haggle them down 20 – 30%.
